Purpose: As an argument writer, I can use my strong reasoning to lead up to my powerful final statement.

2. Teaching:   Today I want to teach you that the strength of your final statements rests on the strength of your reasoning leading up to your final words.
3. Engagement:  Techniques for Powerful Final Statements
4. Application: Use our techniques for writing powerful final statements in your argument essay.
• Add powerful quotes to strengthen your argument.
• Paraphrase!  Rewrite evidence in your own words.
• Explicitly connect your reasons to your evidence: don't make your readers infer!
• Continually ask yourself, "What are you trying to teach/show/make your reader believe?"
