Thursday 05/04 Writing - "Windshield Wiper"

Purpose:  I can use repetition in my poems to help the reader imagine something.
  1. Whole Group: "Windshield Wiper"
  2. Poets shape their stanzas and use repetition to help us understand the subject and use sensory details to help their audience see, hear, smell, taste, and feel what's happening.
  3. Independent Writing Time:
    • Write poems about things that move or make noise.
    • Continue writing unique poems about ordinary things.
    • Continue using sensory words to describe weather.
    • Continue personifying objects.
    • Continue to write words and images for months of the year.
    • Use sensory details to describe any other topic.
