Purpose: I can proofread my persuasive essay draft to make it as clear and convincing as possible.

1. Whole Group: Proofreading for Periods
2. As you read your writing, "listen" for the natural ends of sentences so you can place punctuation as needed.  Be sure to capitalize as needed.
3. Independent Writing Time:
• Use the feedback to revise and improve your draft.
• Revise your opening sentences to get your reader interested.
• Make sure to state your opinion clearly in the first paragraph.
• Make sure to give reasons that support your opinion.
• Repeat your opinion in your conclusion.
